If you're going around the time of the Palio, you may have to go farther afield. Good luck!

Tiffani,

As Karen said, that time of year is usually VERY busy in Siena because of the Palio. Trying to book something for July at this late date is going to be difficult.

Where are you looking for listings? If you've exhausted all the lodgings in the Italy 2009 Guidebook, you might consider Hostels? Have a look at www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php/ChosenCity.Siena/ChosenCountry.Italy for some examples.

Good luck and happy travels!

As others have said, July can be a busy time in Siena. But the first Palio is July 2nd and the second is August 16--neither of these dates corresponds with your dates. The several days before the Palios would also be solidly booked, but it seems that the Palio is not the reason you're finding Siena booked. So you may want to keep trying.

Thanks you everyone. We found a B&B in Siena with good review and have made our booking.

Tiffani,
I was wondering if you would mind sharing which B&B you are staying at? I am going to Siena and am having a hard time finding a place to stay.

We will stay at Villa Elda in June. Can't wait. They've been very responsive and helpful and have good reviews.

In April 2009 we stayed at the B&B Alle Due Porte in Siena. Very nice - very close to the Duomo and Il Campo. There is no elevator and the stairs were narrow and steep, a problem for some. The rooms were generous in size and the breakfast(pastries, yogurts, cereals) was very good! The proprietor and his wife were very accommodating and she made the most fabulous breakfast pastries.
