My husband and I will be traveling from Rome with a stop in Tuscany for 2 days and then on to the Cinque Terre. I have been to Sienna, he has not. Do you recommend Sienna again or what are other great options in the area for something different. I keep seeing a lot of people mention Montepulciano.
How many nights in Tuscany?
And do you plan to rent a car or use public transport?
I love Siena, but what about Florence? Or, a smaller town, Orvieto, which is lovely. The hill towns are great, but you would need a car to get to them. Florence and Orvieto are accessible by train. It depends on how you are traveling.
Definitely Florence in my opinion.
Florence. I'm in Phoenix right now (your home town), and I see that Phoenix will have the Leonardo Codice at the Phoenix Art Museum starting Jan. 24. this will be a good warm up for Florence, you have to go to this (although Leonardo did not spend a lot of time in Florence, Michelangelo did).
I have been to Florence....not a fan. We will not be renting a car.
