The last part of our Italy trip in April is going from Florence to Siena on April 21st for 2 nights, then on to Rome for 2 nights and home.
I just read in RS's book that finding a hotel in Siena is tough during Easter. Is this a really bad plan? Will things be open that day? We could arrive late in the day, get to our hotel and see the sights the next day.
Suggestions?

Whether or not it is necessary, why don't you book your hotel now? We just booked in early July a two week trip for Rome, Sienna, Ravenna, and Venice. For next April, including Easter. We booked all our hotel nights already, there was no problem doing so - - - now. And BTW, all 4 places, which happen to be RS recommendations, while wanting our cc info as a guarantee against not showing, are not charging us in advance.

Thank-you! I've made all of my hotel reservations except Siena so far. I plan on booking the Sena hotel now.
