Looking for a couple of reasonable (or even luxury!!) suggestions for lodging in Siena in February. So many websites show rooms are not available -- I assume they close for the winter. Much thanks!
Try booking.com, I use them often.
Krys, You might try Albergo Bernini. I don't know if they're open in February, but a short E-mail should answer that question. It's in a great location, and I found the rooms very comfortable. At that time of year, breakfast on the terrace probably won't be an option. Happy travels!
Albergo Bernini is my choice when in Siena.
How long will you be there? The hubby and I were there last year the 1st week of March and had similar problems with places being closed and rented an awesome apartment with a terrace with a view over the skyline/Campo. If you are there for a few days that option may work. Let me know and I'll send you the link. Have a good trip!
I agree Albergo Bernini is a great place.
We rented an apartment through Vrbo.com and loved it. 850 for the week. Right between il campo and the duomo. View of the church of San Domenico from the balcony.
My friends and I stayed last month in Hotel Elda in Siena. A small B&B that was lovely and a short walk from the center of the city. Very reasonable rates and Barbara, the concierge, was most helpful with restaurant suggestions, maps, directions and getting us a cab to the train station. From the station it's about a ten minute ride. Two blocks from the hotel there is the most beautiful view of the Duomo and the Tuscan landscape. Just google the hotel name for their website.
An option would be staying in a closeby hilltop town, or agritursimo in the area. You'll get much more for your money. I was there in April, and found Siena to be very congested and hard to find a parking place in. After all, a car is really needed to see the sights of Tuscany/Chianti.
