Hi, we have 4 nights in Sienna and would like recommendations for nice hotel in heart of old town so we can walk to everything. Cheers. Lisa
Loved love loved Antica Residenza Cicogna! Very convenient, charming restored house from (I think) 14th century. Terrific people, lovely breakfast. If you have a car, ask about the parking spot they may be able to rent to you.
Hi, thank you your reply. The B & B looks great. Is it close to restaurants, we like to be able to walk out at night to restaurants. By day we can walk anywhere but at night like choices of restaurants. Cheers Lisa
If it's not too pricey for you, the Palazzo Ravizza is pretty amazing. Be sure to book a room with a view. It's right on the edge of town but very convenient to walk everywhere.
Lisa, I stayed at This Hotel on my last visit to Siena, and it was great. The room was very comfortable and breakfast on the patio in the sun was wonderful. Since my last stay, the Hotel has changed ownership, however I stopped by for a visit with the new owners not too long ago, and I'm sure they continue offer the same great experience for visitors. I found it very easy to walk from there to any of the main sites in the city (ie: Il Campo, Bus Depot at Piazza Gramsci, etc.). Happy travels!
Also recommend Palazzo Ravizza. Parking is included right behind the hotel.
Hi everyone, thank you for your recommendations. I am still finding it hard to choose. I love the look of the B & B but also like the idea of a hotel where there are people to answer questions all the time and the idea of a bar!!!Cheers Lisa
Hi again, Lisa. At Antica Residenza Cicogna there is always someone to answer questions, give directions, etc. There's a bar (English-Norht American-Aussie-type, not Italian-type) right across the street that we enjoyed very much.
We stayed at Albergo Bernini a couple of years ago and loved it. Reasonable rates and absolutely charming hosts.
Hi, thanks everyone for your help. I have booked the B & B, will let you know how we go.
Cheers Lisa
