Read this article today: Pavement in Duomo di Siena Completely Visible

"The magnificent pavement of the Duomo in Siena will once again be completely uncovered from this Monday, August 18 through October 27th, 2014. Described by Vasari as the “most beautiful… grand and magnificent“, major sections of the marble pavement are usually covered to protect them from the feet of the numerous visitors and faithful that visit the cathedral every day."

The last time I was in Siena a good part of the floor was under renovation. Sine we are going to Seina in the middle of October we will be able to see it in it's full glory. I can hardly wait!

On March 1 they also announced: "As of 1st of March, following lengthy restoration, visitors will be able to admire the ‘heavens’ of the Cathedral. A series of rooms that have never been open to the public, where no one has entered for centuries, except for the workmen directed by a succession of great architects who over the centuries left evidence in projects and sketches, at times drawn directly on the walls." We were fortunate enough to see some of the uncovered floors during our last visit to the Siena Duomo. They're really something, worth seeing if you can arrange it.
