Siena car rental, etc

We will be in Siena for three nights in September, taking the train from Florence. We want to enjoy Siena our first day. Is there a rental car agency close by, ideally at the train station so we can drop the car there on our way out of town?** I cannot seem to confirm this.

Additionally, I saw in another post that we must make reservations to visit wineries and I'd love a recommendation for a relaxing agriturismo/winery dinner. Can we do this online?

Lastly, can anyone recommend a restaurant that locals love in Siena for our first night for dinner?

Thank you!

Sorry to be unclear. We are arriving in Siena by train from Florence.

We know we want to rent a car for our final two days in Siena to see the countryside.

I only thought about renting a car near the train station since we can drop it off there the day we are leaving by train to our next stop. Perhaps it does not matter because I know the town is only about a mile from Siena.

Appreciate any responses! This Forum has been very helpful.

The rental agencies are all near the train station
You can google “Hertz Siena” and see the exact location

Hertz is there and I think just one other

If you use AutoEurope.com you might see the Siena options if they contract with all of them

Your location will help decide your restaurant as Siena has many. If you visit the Campo on your first night, I suggest Osteria Al Palchetto da Vittorio on Via del Porrione. The menu is on a chalk board and if you do not have reservations, Vittorio will decide if you will be seated with a nod of his head and point to a table. Another one is Osteria del Gatto on via San Marco.

I am going to have to disagree with Christine, sorry. I do not think any car rental agency is within an easy walking distance to the train station, especially with luggage. Her suggestion to use AutoEurope.com is spot-on.

Thanks all, for everyone's advice! I am still trying to decide whether renting a car and driving in Tuscany is a hassle or the right thing to do especially with wine tasting. The winery tours seem to be a bit ridiculous price-wise but I appreciate anyone's insight on this.
