Siena and Montepulciano hotels

We have a car. We're looking for hotels where we can park and walk to the restaurants in the cities in the evening. Any of you have suggestions?

We spent two nights in Siena at the Hotel Borgo Grondaie. It was near the train station at Siena. We were traveling by car too, and we like to park and walk in to towns also. The hotel has a beautiful pool and grounds. A large parking area. Washing machines and drying racks were available to guests. The walk into town was a little long, but not really that bad, maybe 20 minutes. It made us feel a little better about the great food we were eating. There is a Co-op store next door that is great for buying picnic lunch fixings and gifts to bring home. The hotel breakfast had a good variety of foods and we enjoyed sitting on the patio for breakfast one morning. I believe we made our reservations through Venere.com or the hotel's website. Have a wonderful trip. We're going back to Italy in Sept 2009 and can't wait.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Elda in Siena and had a very good experience. Street parking was available, and there's also a parking lot within a couple of blocks. Walking to the town center was a pleasant 10-15 minute walk. The hotel is a bit pricier than others in Siena, but we'd stay there again.
