Siena Accomodations - Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe

I've narrowed B&B stay options in Siena to four - anyone have 1st hand knowledge from a stay, or opinion? 1) Casa di Antonella (One of RS's), 2) B&B San Francesco, 3) B&B La Coperta Ricamata, or 4) B&B Camollia

Have you checked out the comments on TripAdvisor? Also, if you will have a rental car, make sure that the parking arrangements are acceptable, and that it's relatively easy to get in and out for day trips.

Oh, yah. I've checked jillions of reviews, looked at many websites, considerated, and narrowed it down to these four. I'm sure any of them will be fine, but input from someone on Rick's site who has been would be nice. Car is not an issue - we're using mass transport.

Kathy, I stayed at Casa di Antonella. It's right in the centre of town so very convenient. Clean and fairly comfortable rooms at a good price, decent breakfast provided. Shared bathrooms, all very clean. The only problem is street noise! The street quietens down only at midnight and it all starts again around 6.30 am. I could hear conversations and music from the bar next door every night. Personally, I wouldn't mind staying there again because of the price, location and comfort, and I can live with the street noise - but maybe other travelers can't. Have you considered the Albergo Bernini? Frequently recommended by travelers. If you're considering a B&B, remember that B&B owners may not live in the property and hold other day jobs, be sure to tell them your arrival time so that they can arrange for someone to let you in.

Thanks for the suggestion, Audrey. Your recommendation looked beautiful. Since it came w/o breakfast, I decided to go w/La Casa delle Terme Casa di Antonella for a few frugal nights to balance out our other lodging spendings. Again, thanks for your thoughts.

Hi Kathy. Be prepared for the street noise! A tip: the room at Casa di Antonella has a fridge and there's crockery in the kitchen - you can save some money by getting simple food (local cheese, bread, ham, fruit) from the grocery or supermarket and having a meal or two in your room or the breakfast room. The Consorzio Agrario supermarket is just a couple of minutes' walk away. Enjoy your trip!
