siena

Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to stay in Siena, preferably one of Rick Steve's suggestions? Also, how many days did you spend here? what restaurants did you like? thanks, Mary

Mary,
Alma Domus is well located no frills and inexpensive. Cannon d'Oro is also well located and has a few frills.

In Siena try tratoria Papei or La Finistra both next to each other behind the city hall and tower. Bagoga near Santa Caterina is another favorite.

Mary,

I also stayed at Albergo Bernini and quite enjoyed my visit. The family is wonderful and the view from the breakfast patio is great! It's easy to walk to Il Campo and to Piazza Gramsci (which is where the Bus departs from, as I recall).

On my last visit, I arrived by Bus (from Florence) and departed via train. The Hotel arranged a Taxi to the station.

Happy travels!
