Side trip Suggestions from Florence and Rome

I will be visiting Italy for the first time in September for my honeymoon. We are planning on going to Venice, Florence, Cinque terre, and then Rome. Are there any suggestions on some 1 day side trips from florence and rome to another area that would be worth checking out? Thanks for your help!!

A popular day trip from Florence is Siena (bus or train). Rome is so big with so much to see that many don't do day trips from Rome, but those who do often go to Orvieto (train) or Ostia Antica.
