I've got my guidebooks, but trying to pick great towns to visit. Any votes out there? Any great budget hotels? We will be traveling in September.

Leah, also post this question on tripadvisor.com.in the Sicily forum. "Vagabonda" can go into great detail with any info you need. We found that the Lonely Planet Sicily guidebook was a fantastic resource when we toured Sicily

Leah, we spent 8 days in Sicily in October. Briefly, our favorite spots were Mt. Etna, Lipari in the Aeolian Islands, Cefalu, and Scopello. We have specific recommendations if you are interested.
