Sicily Tour review

RS's Sassy, Spicy, Sicily ...what did you think of Sicily, would you go again? We've been to Italy 4 times on our own with only a short time in Taormina, cruise port Messina. Would you suggest Sicily for 3 1/2 weeks and what is your impression?

Hi Jo, Not sure if you're looking for tour reviews or impressions of travel in Sicily. We didn't go on a tour but spent 2 weeks in Sicily in May. It's an amazing destination and we'd go again in a minute! Lots of archaeological sites, excellent food, friendly people, and beautiful scenery. It's all great. I'd recommend a trip to Sicily!

Thanks Kathy and Sharon...we have always traveled on our own and wanted to explore someplace different, Sicily was where my Mom was born. We fell in love with Italy to the point that I was afraid to venture somewhere else-sounds like Sicily will be a great place too

We've done nine trips to Italy (eight on our own) and two of these were to Sicily. First time was northern and eastern Sicily for two weeks and then western and southern Sicily for three weeks. We also would go back in a heartbeat.

Add my vote to going to Sicily. Great trip and the history is amazing. Scenery as well. Food is quite different from the rest of Italy.

@ Kathy, The link you provided for your trip report brings up a page on a Fodors forum. Where is your report on that site?

@Ken - That link should pull up a page headed "Crumbling Palazzos and Creamy Cannoli - Savoring Sicily" - that is my report (I'm thursdaysd over there). Do you get something else?

Definitly! I've done 3 trips to Sicily and look forward to going back. It offers enough to keep you busy for that amount of time.
