My husband and I are traveling with another couple to Sicily in the fall. They want to include a couple of days in Sardinia, is it worth a trip there? Also wondering if just the 2 of us wanted to see Greece either before or after Sicily is doable, we can take about 2 1/2-3 weeks total to travel or should be a separate trip all together? Thanks
There is a lot to see in Sicily. We were there over two weeks, rented a car, and had to make hard choices. I have been to Sardinia too but I think it is not worth the diversion for a few days.
I have been to Greece multiple times. I think it should be a separate trip.
I would spend all your time in Sicily.
If all you can have is a couple days, then no, it wouldn't be worth it to go to Sardinia for such amount of time. Even a week would be too short.
You can certainly add Greece if you have the time. As far as I'm concerned Sicily deserves a couple of weeks, but if you want to see only one portion of it. (like Palermo and the West, or the Ionian coast on the East), you may be able to see one of the two in a week or so.
Same is valid for Greece, a couple of weeks or at least 10 days is what you need. If you just want to see one spot, like only Athens and skip the islands and everything else (or just see the Cyclades islands, like Santorini and Mykonos, and not Athens) you might be able to get away with a week.
