Is it possible to travel from Sicily to Africa on a day trip?

An odd question! Where in "Africa" do you want to go? Tunis? Johannesburg? Assuming you mean to say "Tunisia", it is theoretically possible to fly from Palermo to Tunis and return the next day (schedules permitting), but I see no logical reason to do so. You could also take a ferry from Palermo or Trapani to Tunis, then return by air (probably the next day).
