We are signed up for a September Best of Sicily tour. Any word on the cyclone damages in Sicily and if that should impact our travel plans

I’m hoping to see an update on your thread. I’m traveling there in June, and am saddened for the people impacted. Also wondering how to adapt my itinerary that included Taormina, Mt. Etna and Syracuse

It's an unfortunate event but I don't think it should affect travel plans, especially as far in the future as June and September. I'm leaving in less than 10 days for a Sicily tour, and it doesn't seem to be affected at all. We'll see when I get there.

While the damage pictures shown look bad, the damage is mostly due to coastal tidal surge and flooding from rivers and streams, and is isolated in areas. I have a trip coming up in mid April to Sicily, and really am not concerned.
