Can anyone shed some light on the weather in Sicily and southern Italy (south of Sorrento) in October?
Thanks, Boni
These are the averages for October in Palermo (Sicily), based on long-term average weather data ("your results may vary"): average daily high temp about 75avg daily low about 60October is one of the rainier months of the year there, with an average of about 4 inches of rain in the month of October (but not to worry, that's not a huge amount of rain), the wetter season there is generally from October to March. As a general statement only, it gets somewhat cooler as you go north from the bottom of The Boot. The weather in southern Italy also depends on how close you are to the coast.
In a word great. We took our trip to Sicily and southern Italy in October and except for one day of rain it was perfect. You can see pictures and details of our trip at our blog at;

I spent October and November in the Mediterranean area and found the weather very mild, lots of sunny days and hardly an bad weather. No cold. But no one can predict weather.
