I want to know when we land in Cantania in July of '26 if there is an option for a larger vehicle or even a small van as we have 5 adults. I understand they have car restrictions but we need more room given all the driving so people are comfortable.

All the main rental companies are at Catania’s airport. Make a dummy booking for a few to check out what they offer. We rented through Avis when we visited there.

That shouldn't be a problem if you reserve it prior to getting there, however, would not be surprised that it will be a van and the pricing will be breath-taking. All major rental companies are available in Sicily, so I would suggest you get started ASAP to reserve.

Check the price on www.autoeurope.com.
A van often costs as much as 3 compacts, so it may be better to rent 2 cars rather than a van, if you have 2 driving adults. Otherwise go for a large station wagon. After you check the pricing, call AutoEurope and the agent will help you get the right car for your party.

Also consider booking directly with SIXT. The agency at CAT is a really good one; we've booked twice with them in the past few years. They have a very large variety of cars for rental, including the larger models.
I don't know about any car restrictions..what are you referring to?
