Sicily - Lodging Recommendations

I'm visiting Sicily for five days in October and will be flying into Palermo and renting a car and driving towards the Valley of the Temple in the early evening. Should we drive all the way to Valley of the Temple and stay near there? Near Agrigento?... Where do you recommend?

After we leave Valley of the Temples, we will be headed to Siracusa. We would like to stay in Ortigia. Where should we stay?

We are also hoping to stay a night or two along the ocean in a small town. Any recommendations? There will be one to two couples making the trip.
Thanks in advance!

SILVA SURI about 5 minutes from the beach of Marine di Ragusa. Great pool.
But only if you rent a car in Catania.

In Agrigento we enjoyed Villa San Marco. It’s down a dirt road that one gets onto near the archeological museum and Q8 petrol station, and affords great views of the temples. From it we walked through an olive grove into the temple area. While walking around our first night there we somehow stumbled into Kolymbethra gardens after visiting the Temple of Vulcano (Hefestos) that is away from the other valley temples.

At that time (2018) the B&B offered a fixed price dinner option that included a bottle of local wine. One sat outside eating dinner while looking out over the valley and temples. Our visit was in late September and it was too chilly to use the pool.

We had intended to stay at Colleverde Park Hotel, occasionally used by RS tours, but it was booked when we made our reservations.

You are staying only 5 days. When are the nights available for the small town on the ocean (actually there is no ocean in Italy, only a sea)? After Ortigia or before? And what month of the year?

hey hey Tonie
is this trip next month & where are you heading after sicily? where are you flying in from?
5 days is a short time in sicily but it's your trip , 4 places in 5 days WOW.
just some FYI: check-in is 3-4pm check-out is 10-11am unless you can ask for early check in. make sure all drivers get an IDP (aaa.com/IDP) it's mandatory in italy. read the laws, rules, ZTL zones, signage on the roads. look at places you're staying at that there is parking available and close by.
with so many people traveling to sicily nowdays, especially to the places you've mentioned and october is a busy month with harvesting, festivals, celebrations all over, book soon. have a great time & enjoy
