We have an open day between stays in Palermo and Trapani, we were thinking of Scopello, is there another stop over we should consider?

We spent a couple of nights in Castellammare del Golfo with a view of the harbor and really enjoyed the town.
We drove through Scopello, I am sure it would be nice too.

We spent 4 nights in Scopello last October and it was the highlight of our entire trip. There is extremely scenic hiking on the coastal trail of Zíngaro Nature Preserve. I’m not sure if it’s warm enough to swim in the sea in May, if so there are several beautiful places. We stayed at Pension Tranchina and recommend it highly. Wonderful hospitality and delicious breakfasts/dinners. Pension Tranchina also provides free parking just a short walk from the guesthouse, so it’s convenient to get in and out of town. The Temple of Segesta/greek theatre is a nice day trip. Rick Steve’s guidebooks suggest “taking a vacation from your vacation “ to regroup during the trip and Scopello was the perfect place to do that.
