Sicily in March

Looking at a Rick Steve’s Sicily tour in March and wondering about travel at that time. Weather ok? What is the best way you found to get to Palermo and flying home from Catania?

I visited Sicily in March of last year and the weather was wonderful. Light jacket in the morning, often didn’t need it in the afternoon. I also took a fleece, which I think I wore one evening. The island was beautiful that time of year, very green with almond trees in bloom. I had expected it to be brown and arid (think The Godfather movie) but it was not. At one point as we were traveling from Agrigento to the Roman Villa del Casale I said to one of my fellow travelers it looked like Ireland. I believe we had a little rain one day in Palermo so pack a raincoat or travel umbrella. I flew on Delta-JFK through Rome to Palermo on one ticket but the Rome to Palermo segment was on ITA which was fine. Coming home I flew Catania-Rome-JFK and again the Catania to Rome was on ITA. Those flights (ITA) were only about an hour each.
