My husband and I will be in Sicily in April 2019. Our plan into Palermo arrives around 7 pm. We are heading to Erice and want to stop somewhere into these two points. The hotel that we are hoping to stay at is in Erice. I have looked at reviews and some have said that it’s a fantastic location but tricky to find at first. If anyone has a suggestion on a hotel we would love to hear it.

We stayed at hotel San Giovanni in Erice. It is a basic no frills hotel, but a good value for what you pay. Free parking in front of the hotel. Because I did a google drive-by to it beforehand, I had no trouble finding it when we arrived. Most of the other Erice hotels are in ZTLs and I have no idea where one would park for them. I would not want to drive from Palermo to Erice at night. The roads in Sicily are generally poorly marked and the road up to Erice is nothing but twists and turns. Take a GPS.
