Sicily food tours

Does anyone have a recommendation for a food tour in Palermo and/or Catania? We will be there in March. Thank you.

We enjoyed the Streaty Food tour in 2022. The guide was engaging, there was plenty of food and it became apparent he was known by locals when a senior lady in a 3rd floor apartment lowered a bucket and told him to buy something for her.

Thanks for the reply. Was the Streaty tour in Palermo or Catania? Was it the street food tour or a different one? Thanks again!

hey hey Carol
so many food tours are out there, some good some bad. you got a few to check out.
eatingeurope.com
mentioned a lot here with many cities to chose from. look at the palermo tours, they offer a 25% off buying a gift card with a promo code. read up on how it works, few people have bought them and sent email when they will use and which city.
@Patty laughed about the senior lady and dropping bucket. friends saw the same thing with euros and list what she needed in basket and owner bought and sent basket back up.

We took the evening Streaty food tour in Palermo.
The guide grew up in the areas covered, and everyone knew her as we passed various places.
Really enjoyed it.

I also enjoyed tours with Streaty in Palermo 2023. I did both the day and night tours which went to different places. As a solo traveler it let me taste a wider variety of food.

We did the evening street food tour in Palermo. At that time the meeting point was in front of the Teatro Massimo and I was very anxious about finding the guide and even more so when there was a political speaker with a crowd. Not to worry, the guild did a great job of rounding up the small group and not leaving anyone behind.

In April of this year, two of my cousins, my wife and myself enjoyed a tour of Mt. Etna through the Sicily Life company. Picked us up at our AirBnB in Taormina, then drove us up to 6000 feet, where we got out, walked around, maybe took a lava rock, and listened to the mountain bang & boom and blow plumes of smoke & steam. In fact, Etna did erupt 2 weeks later.

After about 30 minutes watching that, we were taken down the mountain in our van and stopped at the Gambino winery on the slopes, a foggy vineyard where they served us a flight of wines and a charcuterie/light dinner that was just delightful--reasonable too at I think 33 Euro per person. Then back down the mountain stopping at a couple villages and medieval castles. Really a nice tour.
