I will need to get from Ragusa to the airport in Catania on a Sunday in March. Has anyone used the bus to get to the airport from this area and how much time did it take?
I traveled to and from Sicily by train, never passing through an airport, but I noticed that the buses heading in and out of Catania to surrounding towns often (perhaps always??) made a stop at the airport. I don't think you'll need to make a connection to reach the airport from Ragusa, which should simplify and speed up your trip. The schedule for a Sunday in February is here. The March schedule isn't available yet. In any case, you should re-check this before you leave the US and verify the schedule again once you're on the ground in Sicily.
If you change the language to English, the point of origin will shift to Dubrovnik, which is very confusing. "Ragusa" was the former name of Dubrovnik (Croatia) several centuries ago, and the translation software is befuddled. The schedule presented on the linked website is for Ragusa (Sicily) to Catania (Sicily).
The site also seems to be confused about how to represent a departure time of noon. It appears to think that is "00:00".
Thanks, very helpful. I did experience the problem of Ragusa changing to Dubrovnik and I wondered how you could get to that country in a few hours.
Wow - I learn something new all the time on this Forum. Who would ever have guessed that "Ragusa" was a former name of Dubrovnik?
