Sicily Car Insurance | Tour Guides or experiences?

Hello
What makes more sense: using Allianz or the insurance offered by the car company. For Sicily, I don't want to suddenly pay up $10k for a potential collision and worry about reimbursement. It would ruin our vacation. But we are getting our overall trip insurance through Allianz.

We are going to Palermo for two days, Trapani for three nights, one night at an Agritoursimo and 3 nights in Siracusa. Any great tour guides or experiences? I love history but I also have 16-year-olds and wouldn't mind finding something unique for them. We are there over Easter but will miss the procession in Trapani. Thank you

We rented through Avis and CDW and liability came with the rental. For piece of mind however, we got the full coverage, zero deductible insurance at the counter when we picked up the car at Catania airport. Fortunately we didn’t need it. If you don’t want to worry about reimbursement, get the complete protection package (what Avis called it). The complete coverage for 15 days, price and value added tax, was €332. Per day, the contract says €18.16 +22% VAT. When you reserve your car, if CDW is included with the price, you don’t need Allianz’s CDW.
