Looking for recommendations for accommodations in Ortigia, Agrigento, Castellammare del Golfo, and Palermo and Cefalu. Must have an elevator. Thank you.
In Castellammare del Golfo stayed at zhotel Cala Marina.so glad we did because it’s right on the bay and you can walk along the waterfront on a wide sidewalk.
In Palermo we stayed at Locanda Satamarina. It’s relatively new (in a renovated historic building) and a short walk to the Masquede, a pedestrian only street with many restaurants and shops.
Agrigento > we stayed at Villa San Marco
* I booked it at Booking.com
* if I had used their website the breakfast would have been included
* the breakfast was expensive (I'm cheap) but we were very glad to have it. Very good, and as we sat outside to eat it we were looking up at the temples
* it was funky to drive to - on a (mile long?) dirt road - the museum is sort of on that same road.
* VERY nice family runs it. AND if you have a family with you, the kids will like the animals they have there.
Near Modica, we stayed at
Casa vacanze Le Agavi
https://www.ledimoredimodica.it/en
The fellow who owns it is Sicilian and is a great guy. Look at the photos he's got a Booking.com
The average traveler may not like it. There are a lot of steps, cut into the cliff face, to get to the lodging. I found them to be ONE of THE REASONS to go there! :-)
Ragusa and Modica are easy drives from there.
We stayed there "between Syracuse and Agrigento"
