We are visiting Sicily in Oct. & are looking for a nice condo/Apt. In Palermo. We like to cook local food. Also we are fans of Camilleri's mystery books/ TV shows & would like a good of the locals for his Montalbano stories. Any suggestions? Thanks. Bill

While I was in Siracusa last year, I saw a flyer for a Montalbano tour that visited several sites in the SE part of Sicily. I think Scicli was one of them. If you spend some time Googling, you may turn up some information. However, I can't guarantee that the tour would run in October.
I think Palermo is a bit too far away to serve as a base for excursions to Montalbano sites.
I stopped briefly in Scicli while traveling by public bus last year. I think that might be the town whose tourist office is closed on Wednesdays. No maps available.
Note that with patience you can reach a lot of Sicilian towns by train or bus, but in the case of the latter, possibly not on Sunday.
