Shuttle pickup

Has anyone used romepickup.com for an airport to hotel or a port to hotel drop off? Are they reputable?

No, but we just used Romecabs 3 weeks ago & had a great experience with them. They monitor your flight arrival times and in our case, our flight was 5 hrs late due to a mechanical problem & Romecabs was there waiting for us when we arrived. They waited right outside of customs holding a sign with our name on it. I had heard great things about Romecabs on this site & another one and their communication was prompt when I booked them.

we used romashuttle.com. They were great, prompt to pick up at our hotel and helpful, right to the correct terminal, no hassles

Sammee - Probably the best value for a pickup is to have your Hotel arrange it - They will negotiate the price down with their regular drivers. Please check it out - It will save you money.
Some , like Nadine , will disagree with the Hotel arranging your pickup BUT - She's probably never done it - They know what the competition is and don't want to embarass themselves to a customer. As I said - try the rest - then try the hotel - you'll be pleasantly surprised , as Nadine would be, If she had ever done it!!!!

We didn't use romepickup.com, but we've used romecabs twice. I disagree that the hotel arranged is the best way, I find every body along the path seems to add a commission and the price seems to be higher than the individual companies charge. romecabs for two people was 50 euros from the center of town to the airport.

We were going for the Leonardo Express when this guy says for only 3 euro more than train, he would shuttle us right to our hotel. He took us and two other couples in a nice clean van directly to our hotel. I don't know if this was romepickup.com but it sure worked out well for us.

We just got back last night from Rome. We used Rome Airport Shuttle from Rick's 2009 Rome. We paid 31 Euro for 2 people. It worked great for us. I checked with the hotel and they quoted me a price of 48 Euro.

Thanks everyone. I checked with my hotel and they quoted me $50-60 Euros for 6 of us and the travel from their hotel to the port was $190 way over than the others I have researched. I've checked airportshuttle.it and their cost is in the middle of the hotels and romecabs. They quoted 55 euros for 6 people with 6 small baggages and 150 euros to the port. romepickup.com quotes are 50 euro and 130 euro, more reasonable, but haven't heard how reliable they are.

Thanks for reporting back, Sammee.

Chalk up more advice from Greg from Jupiter that didn't pan out. And he threw in a too-common gratuitous little slap at Nadine just for trying to give her advice.
