Shroud visit

Me and my wife will be in northern Italy in June this year and would love to visit the shroud of Turin. I heard that is is very hard to get to actually see the real shroud but I’m not sure exactly what is the case? If anyone can give me some information about this I would appreciate it? Thanks Charles

Yes, the real shroud is locked up in a lead lined box in a church ( I cant remember the name), so you cant actually se it. I found the nearby museum about the shroud quite fun. It goes in depth about the history of the shroud and all the various examinations about it’s authenticity that have been done throug out the years. It’s quite factual, but it still holds on to some of the Dan Brown novel ‘esque mystery sourounding the shroud.

While seeing the actual shroud is limited to occasional displays, there is a very good high resolution image on display. The Cathedral of St. John in which it's displayed is very interesting as well. The attractions in and around Turin are fantastic from the Royal Palace to the Egyptian Museum to the Royal Hunting Lodge at Stupinigi.
