I've noticed SO MANY Chicagoans planning trips to Italia in recent weeks--bravo e buon viaggio!
It must be something in the water. ;)
I'm excited about our trip next week (next WEEK!) and I owe its success in part to the excellent advice I received on this forum. Grazie!
Thanks for the shout out, Gio.
I think it has to do with wanting to escape the snow and/or ice and/or rain...
My fiancee has wanted to go to Italy for at least a year now and we found a good cheap flight, so we're going... 34 days from today, not that we're counting or anything.
Every girl from small-town Wisconsin dreams of going to Paris, and we did that last year. Her next dream is of going to Italy. (never mind that her first European trip was to Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, and Fuessen, and she loved that as well)
Ha! Don't feel bad. My wife and I have been to Italy twice before, and still we CAN'T WAIT until we get back: 3 months 12 days 17 hours and 10 minutes. Not that we're counting, either!
Yes, my way of getting through the winter is taking on new projects during my weekends of hibernation. This year my project was reading about & planning my trip to Italy. Now I can hardly wait until June!
