I am planning a three week trip to Tuscany starting in Viareggio, on to the countryside and ending with a few days in Florence (I have been there many times and am pretty familiar with the city). I am planning to fly Swiss through Zurich. Any opinions about how welcomed or un-welcomed Americans will be this Fall?
I am an experienced traveler and am always respectful of wherever I am visiting. We are in our 70's and will be doing a fairly upscale trip. Just concerned that timing might not be good for this year until things straighten out. Thanks.
We’re going to Italy (and England) later in the fall this year. As for timing, if you don’t do it this year, you’ll be another year older when you do (quote from Warren Miller). For both Tuscany and the Zurich airport, and as a respectful visitor in an upscale setting, you (and your travel spending) will be welcome. Respect gets respect. Your biggest worry should be which flavor(s) of gelato to pick! Have a great trip!

I’m leaving for Bologna and many, many other places in Italy on March 31 with absolutely no worries. I’m returning April 26. I’d suggest reading all the current travel reports on the forum; no one has reported anything but the usual tourist encounters. Happy travels.
I'm more worried about me running out of my ability to travel as a 75-year-old woman solo traveler than anything else. I say go, savor and enjoy Italy.
