I have a choice of taking a 12 day cruise from Venice to Barcelona covering Sicily, Naples, Rome, Florence etc. Does anyone know whether I should choose the October 2009 sailing (Oct.20~Nov.1, 09) or May 2010 sailing (May 25~Jun.6 10)? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated!
May will be good for a cruise. The weather will be nice and the crowds won't have arrived en masse yet.
The big advantage to late October is rooms get cheaper but that's not a factor with a cruise. Also November 1st is All Saints Day; there will be closures. You may lose a chance to see much of wherever you will be that day.
We did that cruise in late May, it was great! I think you would have some cool nights on the ship in October. I wouldn't want to chance it, you want to enjoy every aspect of your vacation....go in May!
It was highly recommended to take the cruise in October as opposed to the summer months because of the heat, humidity and hugh crowds with children traveling in the summer months.
In fact we are doing a European cruise late next month.
Hope you enjoy your cruise.
Freddie
May is better you chance rain otherwise.
