We will be staying in Varenna and have dinner reservations for Sunday night in early October in Bellagio. Our plan was to go late afternoon to explore a bit before dinner. I was told to avoid Bellagio on Sundays? We can probably change our dinner reservations to Monday if Sundays should be avoided.

We were looking for a driver to take us to Varenna in case our regional train from Milan to Varenna gets cancelled because of a potential strike on Oct 5. He was booked but he was very generous with his time via mail. He said it can be very crowded on Sundays.

Did they give you a reason why? Can’t think why unless maybe crowds but it could be crowded on Mondays, too.

Yes, the reason was the crowds, maybe local families going on Sunday for lunch or dinner
