I'm in Padova and want to share what little I've learned about visiting the chapel:
1) Daytime visit - this is the link I saved from when I purchased our tickets (visited yesterday, Tuesday)
https://www.cappelladegliscrovegni.it/index.php/en/information/biglietti-e-riduzioni
2) I kept clicking on the stelle visit link - where you can visit at night - and it always said the tickets weren't being sold online at this time. I emailed them and may post their reply (later) but I'll have to dig it out.
When we arrived in Padova on Monday, they said to phone to get tickets for night viewing. "Call in the morning" (I should have called on Monday)
** On Tuesday I called +39 049 2010020 - I had to 'look' to see how to enter the "+" sign
they were sold out of Tuesday night. they had an opening for 9 PM Wednesday - "great!"
I asked if we could get "back to back viewings" so we could stay in there for 1/2 and hour - they happened to have an opening!
** When the woman on the phone 'sold' us the tickets she stayed on the line until I confirmed to her that I had received the invoice in my mail account. I then had a limited amount of time to finish the transaction (or lose the spots).
3) When we bought our original tickets I had printed them out. I purchased them SO long ago that I had forgotten anything else special about them > When we showed the tickets to a person at the Chapel, she gave us some ADDITIONAL info
- - we get free use of the tram for 3 days and 'free' entry into several other sites (listed below)
She gave us a sheet of paper with "Sites you can visit with URBS PICTA card"
** we visited the Baptistery of the Cathedral
** ** on the sheet, they say it's 'open' on Monday, Tuesday Fri, Sat, Sun
** ** we took the tram to the Prato della Valle and then back to the middle section of town (to see the outline/distances of the city THEN we went to the Baptistry - it has timed visits and we wanted to see what spots were open
** ** ** we arrived at 2:31 and had just missed the 2:30 group
** ** ** the next two groups were full - 3 PM and 3:30, so we'd have to come back for a later group OR
** ** ** they let us catch up with the group that had just started seeing the into video
** ** after the video we went into the Baptistry. You can view it for a while "on your own", then a narrator explained all the frescos - VERY WELL DONE - EXCELLENT
