Would it be feasible to do a short hike near Ortisei and travel to Bolzano by bus to see the iceman in one day? We will be arriving by bus on the My Way Alpine tour about 4 pm on Thurs, Sep 3 and leaving in the morning of Sat, Sep 5, so basically, we only have 1 day there. It looks like the first bus to Bolzano is about 7 am and the last bus back leaves Bolzano at 5:10 pm. If so, in what order would you do them? Thanks, Karen

The museum is open from 10 am to 6 pm, so there is no need to be on the early bus. If I were doing this, I would have breakfast early, go for my hike, then be back down in time to catch the bus to Bolzano around 1:00 pm if there is one. Then be sure to make that last bus back to Ortesei!
I say thin without knowing what the lines are like in the afternoon. We went in the morning and had only a short wait.

Thanks, Lola. There are busses at 12:35 and 1:35, so that could work. I forgot to check the museum hours before posting, so you're right about doing the hike first. I figure I can rest on the RS bus the next day, so full days are ok with me. Thanks for your reply!
