I found a pretty good deal on a flight but I have never had a connecting flight outside of US. I will fly from Miami to CHO,Paris but I only have 1 hr and 20 minutes to make it thru customs. Is this realistic. There is no other flight to Naples that day!! Why would the airlines offer it if it would be inpossible to make your connecting flight.Anyone have this experience. Thank you
Pat
Not sure, it might be doable but it will be tough. My experience with CHO is that when the planes lands you then wait on the tarmac for a bus to take you to the terminal. Add to that trying to find the connecting gate and customs. Doable perhaps, but it will be stressful. If your plane is late and you miss your flight they will certainly put you on another flight.
Probably doable BUT CDG is a huge and confusing airport. Good idea to have a back up plan.
As long as you know your arrival & departure terminals at CDG, you can find exact directions here: http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Access-maps-car-parks/guide-connection-flight/
Thanks for your views. I wonder if it is worth saving 200 dollars to be stuck in Paris because if I miss that flight there is no other flying into Naples that Day. I can only imagine what there immigration and customs is like OR is customs at my arrival city of Naples. Now that would be less risky!!

If your bags are checked through to Naples, that's where you'll go through customs. Customs is just a walk-through except in the highly unlikely event that you have something to declare.
In late August, we will also have a short connection in CDG (1 hour 10 minutes), from Delta (2E) to Air France (2D). We've been assured that this is enough time. Evidently when planes arrive at CDG with passengers who have short connections for "long haul" flights, someone will meet you at the plane and guide you through security, etc., to your next gate. I'm not sure what qualifies as "long haul", so in case the guide isn't there, I have printed out detailed directions from the CDG website of how to get from our arrival gate to the connecting flight. Admittedly I'm a little apprehensive about this but the alternative is a 4-hour wait in the airport, so we're going to hope for the best. EDIT: I actually found the best directions on the Air France website. Here's the url: http://www.airfrance.fr/FR/en/common/guidevoyageur/aeroport/correspondance_cdg.htm On this page, click "Display the transfer routes between the various terminals". You'll enter the cities you're arriving from and departing to, and get very clear instructions. Hope this helps!
We have a similar problem, a 65 minute layover in Zurich on our return home. However we will most likely not be checking a bag, having only our carry-ons. I am confident we can do it, but I've never had that tight a connection. I am wondering if we checked a bag, would it make the connection?
We have decided to fly out of Mia to ROME non stop and just drive to Sorrento. I loved the cheap flight but it is not worth the stress.
Thanks to everyone
The thought of flying overnight, landing in Rome - exhausted, getting a rental car, then driving anywhere but especially around Rome to Sorrento is causing me some armchair stress :-) Godspeed!
I agree with above. Can you get a bus from Rome to Sorrento or can at least take the train. Why do you want a car in Sorrento, just curious as I would not drive down the Amalfi coast if that is your plan. Good luck with trip.
