We are going next July on a Med Cruise and heard great things about www.shoreexcursionsinitaly.net, transportation company providing private tours. Before booking our tours with them, we would like to know if someone already used them in the past. Any recommendation highly appreciated, thanks!

Hi Azulprimavera, we used them last summer during our Civitavecchia and Naples shore excursions and they were great! The driver we had was Domenico for both excursions and we had a great time with him! New Mercedes van for our group of 6, spoke a good English and in addition to all the information he provided us, was fun as well... Booking with them you cannot be wrong!!

Adding a different question, but related ... did you have any trouble getting back to the boat on time? My husband is terrified of not taking the cruiseline's tours because of missing the boat, but they are so expensive and so many seem to have good experiences ...

Most of our tours from cruise ships are private but you do have to establish a firm return time and we try to pad by a couple of hours. If a ship is scheduled to depart at 5 pm, that means your are expected on board by 4:30 so we will always be back by 3 pm.

Our driver, gave us, during the tour, time advices. Respecting them, as we did, we came back to the ship at 05.00 p.m., plenty of time before it sailed at 07.00 p.m.
As the driver was explaining to us, the company is pretty big, so they have addtl spare vehicles in case yours gets broken and they guarantee you, always to be back to the ship on time....
Splitting the cost among 6-8 people of your group, it's much less expensive than the cruise ship tours and tailored to your wishes.
Do not worry and enjoy your tour!
