Shore Excursion Brindisi to Ostuni--Is Alberobello worth it?

Hi all,
We are visiting Puglia via shore excursion from Brindisi this July and have never been there. We have an option of an Ostuni trip with a Cisternino olive oil tasting in a trullo building that is almost a 5 hour round trip, and there's also an option that includes Ostuni and Alberobello that is almost 8 hours. I'm wondering if it's really worth the extra bus time to go to Alberobello to see/experience it for what might only be an hour or so, or will we get enough of the experience seeing a few from the bus and doing the tasting in a trullo building? I gather from reading that Alberobello would be great to visit, just not sure if it's worth it in this capacity. Thank you for any thoughts!

This is very difficult to decide. If you weren’t on a cruise these problems would be non existent.. Of course Alberobello is worth it! But you have very little time available and are trying to cram what needs three days into eight hours. I would do the eight hour tour if I were you. And hopefully you will return to Puglia to spend some time there. It is a wonderful place to explore.

Just to clarify, we do not take cruises so it’s very hard to relate to how difficult the port stops are. We travel independently and always rent cars. We did not care for the Amalfi Coast but loved Sorrento, Capri, Puglia. We have had more trips in northern Italy, 8, than in southern Italy,3, usually for a month.

Take the longer tour. There is a difference between seeing one trullo and seeing a city of them.

Do they include a walking tour of Alberobello?

Thank you both and yes, they do include a walking tour of Alberobello with some free time as well but I suspect it won't be much free time.

We did visit Alberobello in 2021. Most tourists go to one part of the Trulli area. But right across from there there’s also a part that is not completely renovated. There was an old lady that opened her Trulli home for visitors. Really fun to see an original one. You could give a voluntary tip.
