Shopping in Florence

We will be arriving late Saturday in July in Florence and staying through Monday. I read somewhere that many of the shops are closed on Sundays and Monday mornings. Is this true and what about the leather markets?

Nope. The outdoor leather markets are open every day and into the evening.
