Has anyone ever had issues with getting boxes of wine shipped from Orvieto? I bought some wine at Enoteca Al Duomo and somehow me explaining my address to them got lost in translation, as my 2 boxes of wine are currently being shipped back to Orvieto(after finding out they were sent to the wrong address here in TX). Trying to catch them before they head back to Italy. I was trying to find the local shipping office in Orvieto so that I might contact them. I have sent my info to the store hoping they will be able to find out, but wanted to see if anyone had any contact info for anyone that ships internationally out of Orvieto so that I might contact them directly and try and track that info down?
Could be a couple of different issues. Does you state allow for direct shipments of wine to residential addresses? Some states do not and it could get turned back by customs. How do you know if went to a wrong address? Do you know what transit company attempted the delivery? If it is being returned there really is no way to intercept it.
As a side note to others, we always write out our address in block letters on a 3x5 card so that there is no question about the address.
Good luck.
By Texas law, foreign wineries are not allowed to ship wine directly to consumers in Texas.

That is what I assumed since all liquor laws are state related. There are no nation wide rules concerning importing. The big question now is can Adam get a refund for the wine returned? Probably not unless the winery is very cooperative.
