We will be arriving by cruise ship to Civitavecchia on April 11. We want to ship some of our ship board cloths home after the cruise. We will be traveling to Sorrento after our cruise arrivals and spending 19 days in Italy using trains to get around. Any suggestions for a FEDEX or UPS or DHL or Italian Postal service near the cruise ship terminal or the train station? The cruise ship offers a service but it is expensive.
This may give you a reference/comparison to the cruise line cost

Or just check with the shippers you list to get a quote
To do so is very expensive.
When flying out of Venice Airport last Spring, I couldn't get over all the huge suitcases being checked in by those coming off ships.
We long ago learned that we can travel like Rick Stevces--even on a cruise ship.
after you check around you may (or possibly not) find that when you add in the convenience the offer from the cruise ship isn't so bad after all.
Or work hard at getting the total haulage down to what you can easily more around on the rest of your trip.
Roy, I think you'll find the RS forums a bit light on cruisers - and "packing light" is practically a religion amongst many Rickniks - so you might post your question on Cruise Critic as well?

But yes, it's going to be expensive any way you do it.
