Shipping clothes back home

Good day ! My wife and I are visiting the Tuscany region in October, (first trip - ever to Italy !) and for the first 5 days we are doing a bike tour. We are thinking about shipping home our bike gear after that, as we are staying in Italy for another 15 days. The thought is we’ll have more room for souvenirs, olive oil and balsamic vinegar ! How best to ship ? We obviously won’t need a super fast shipping option. Thanks :) -Brian

Where does the bike tour end and from where do you fly home?

Is it possible to just store the bike gear until you leave and just take it as (extra) baggage?

That could be cheaper than shipping costs; depends on your airfare class and bag allowance as to how feasible this option is.

Check out sendmybags.com, they are not cheap though. They use DHL in Italy.

We end our tour up in Florence , and then we start the second round of our vacation. We eventually fly out of Rome later. I appreciate the responses, but I think “storing” our bike stuff isn’t an option… so DHL is the best way to go ?
Thanks

You could also check FedEx.
Last year I shipped a FedEx International Economy flat rate box home from Italy. It was around €125 for just under 5 kg. Arrived fine. I remember there was a substantial jump in price for the next weight category. Not sure how much your biking gear weighs.

I used to do this when traveling EU (now I live here). Use the Post Office. It's easy and cheap, and they have boxes and packing materials. The other option is DHL but that's more expensive. You can ship your souvenirs too. I always did.
