My daughter and I will be in Rome on a Sunday in late August. Has anyone been to the Vatican for services? What are the crowds like? Would the Pope do the services himself. Any and All information would be appreciated.

I'll try and answer your questions:
Has anyone been to the Vatican for services? YES
What are the crowds like? Can be very CROWDED
Would the Pope do the services himself? The Pope does the Wednesday Audience (10:30 AM) and special services such as Easter, Christmas, etc. but in August he will NOT be in Rome, rather at his summer retreat.
