we will be leaving Venice by the city night line to Munich. since it dosn't leave until around 23:00 hr. we were wondering what we could do until then? are there bars or cafes close by that are still open that late? we will have been in Venice for about 12 hours and will be tired before our train leaves. thank you in advance for all your thoughts.

To more specifically answer your question since you will have criss-crossed San Marco square all day and be bored to tears by the area, and since it's a good half-hour hike from the square to the railroad station:
Yes. There is a string of bars and restaurants very close to the train station. As you cross the Grand Canal on the bridge closest to the station, hang a right (the steet name contains "rio' and 'spagna', but have unrememberd the three or four other words). Between the bridge you just crossed and another bridge over a smaller canal (a distance of about 300 yards) you can take your pick of spots.
