September Itinerary suggestions please

I will be spending two weeks (14 nights)in Italy in September, traveling solo, by train. My plan is to start in Venice, spend 4 nights and end with 3 nights near Florence at an agrituriso. I am seeking suggestions for the remaining seven nights. I am thinking of Cinque Terre for 4 of those nights, but that still leaves 3 nights for further exploration. Any suggestions? I have already visited Sienna, San Gimignano, and points further south and would like to stay in the Tuscany area and out of big cities.

a big consideration is whether you'll have a car or not. If you do, that opens up stays in the countryside at places like agritourismo's, and a car in general is useful for visiting small towns in the region. You could also consider going to Le Marche, basing in a town like Urbino and exploring the area. This area is little-visited by english speaking tourists, and while the weather can still be wonderful in Sept. most Italian tourists will be gone since they take their vacations in July and August. Another option in the area would be the wonderful food in the Bologna region; you could stay in Parma and visit towns in the region. This would be more doable by train; for Le Marche you'll need a car.

2 days in Verona, 2 days in Ravenna

IMHO, 4 in CT is a lot.

I would consider Orvieto though its a bit south and possibly Ravenna... I agree the 4 days in CT for me would be a bit much... Although if its R&R you are after, it would be a nice idea.
