September 2025 Jubilee Crowds

Hello. We’re planning a 3 week trip to Sorrento, Florence and Rome from Sept 17 to Oct 8. I’ve been to Rome a couple of times that same time of year and (with the exception of tours of the Vatican) have always found the crowds manageable. Just hearing about the Jubilee and wondering how bad the crowds will be. In Rome we usually stay near Piazza Navona. Considering Trastevere this time. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Something to consider in order to get an idea of crowds next year is to, in the months or weeks leading up to your trip, look at webcams of the areas you want to visit. I know Skyline webcams has several in Rome and Florence. There is a time-lapse function that will allow you to view a whole day's worth of activity.

I just read that Rome typically has 13 million tourists per year and 39 million are expected to visit in 2025. I cannot recall where I read this as I am doing a lot of research on Italy travel. could have been The Guardian, the points guy, Travel and Leisure......

Wow. Thanks for that info Carrie. I will look into that; could be a deal breaker!
