To celebrate my 80th birthday & granddaughter's college graduation we two are going to Italy in late April for 2 weeks ... backpacks and footloose. I have been to Bolzano/Venice/Florence/Rome and want to go and do the things that granddaughter will enjoy on her first trip to Europe (we are in Alaska.) Figured fly into Rome and take trains north ... Florence for sure. Trying to plan places and activities for her age rather than mine, meaning more activity and less relaxing with scenery and wine (I plan to still be healthy and mobile in April!!) Any thoughts from anyone else who may have taken a trip remotely like this? I admit I don't mind recreating my college days and don't require fancy accommodations ... in fact, we are going to budget best we can. Plan to explore places with festivals, etc. Thanks for any suggestions.
Our teenaged granddaughters really liked taking a cooking class in various Italian cities. Their favorite ones were in Florence with MaMa Florence where they took 2 classes. One class involved a country bike ride followed by a class. https://www.mamaflorence.com/en/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwlK-WBhDjARIsAO2sErQIUB1CR4UwlNWHz7Ocmc-veISUZsr7QYv1pjuWIV5GsICU571z9UoaAgDsEALw_wcB
