Senior Citizen discounts in Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples

I read in Rick Steves updates to Venice 2009, Venice's city museums now grant senior discounts to non-EU citizens. "These museums include the Doge's Palace, Correr Museum, the Clock Tower on St. Mark's Square, Ca' Rezzonico, Ca' Pesaro, Murano Glass Museum, Burano Lace Museum, and the 18th-Century Costume Museum (a.k.a. Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo)."
Where and how do we get the senior citizen discounts?

Are there senior citizen discounts for US citizens in Milan, Florence, Rome, Naples and Pompeii?

Is the passport sufficient ID to show our age?

Just ask. And be prepared to show the passport to prove your age.
