Self-service ticket at Bolzano

Hello,
When I made a reservation for travel from Bolzano to Venice, I got electronic tickets for the Verona to Venice leg, but self-service tickets for Bolzano to Verona to be picked up at a kiosk in Bolzano. I don't know if I made the wrong "delivery" choice while purchasing the ticket or that is how it is for travel originating in Bolzano... My question is, do I absolutely need to pick up the tickets for the Bolzano to Verona leg, or can I just show the email receipt for purchase of the tickets which contains all the details/PNR code etc?
Any clarifications regarding this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vishal

Did you buy the tickets through Trenitalia or another source? It should say on the email if the PNR code is sufficient.

There are kiosks -- self-service -- in Bolzano so it won;t be hard to do.

What is the beginning and ending cities on your electronic tickets? If it is Verona and Venice, you OK. If Verona and Bolzano - you are not OK and need the additional ticket.

@Laurel:
I bought the ticket from Trenitalia. My understanding is that PNR code is generally your authorization to travel within Italy. On the ticket, it merely says that I can use the PNR code to retrieve my Bolzano-Verona ticket from the kiosk. Since all of my other Trenitalia purchases have defaulted to ticketless with no option for a hard copy offered, self-delivery must have been the only option for the leg in question. I also ran into a thread on trip advisor that attributed the lack of ticketless option here to it being a EuroCity train run by Germans up to Verona.
In any case I will just have to make sure I pick up the tickets in Bolzano.
Thanks for all your help!
