Seeking Rome Hotel Recommendations

Taking my adult daughter to Rome in late September for several days. Looking for a good, quality hotel with character that's centrally located to the major sites. Have been looking online and there are a lot of choices. Don't want to spend a fortune but will splurge if needed. Any recommendations appreciated!

Have stayed at the Grand Hotel de la Minerve, newly renovated and right next to the Pantheon, walking distance to all sites. For a less expensive option, have also stayed at the Stendhal on the Via Tritone., also within walking distance to major sites. Stendhal has some suites, which are larger and in the building around the corner. Enjoyed both hotels

I recently stayed at Albergo Santa Chiara, just behind the Pantheon — great location, lovely staff, and a nice mix of comfort and Roman charm without being overly pricey. Also heard good things about Hotel Navona for a more boutique feel in the heart of the city.

We prefer the area around Pantheon/P Navonna /Campo de’Fiori-you can walk most everywhere from that location

Use Booking. Com, set your filters
Read reviews there as those can only be left by actual customers -you can also filter the reviews

Hotel Smeraldo is delightful. Very centrally located near Campo di Fiori, 5- minute walk to taxi stand in Lago Argentina, easy access to the Capitoline museum, Piazza Navona & the Pantheon. I would say the surrounding area has tons of character, the actual hotel is more modern. Opt for a "superior" room facing the interior, they're QUIET. Rooms facing the street are very noisy if you open the window. There's a room on the first floor (up one flight) that has a cute little nook down a corridor with a couch that turns into a bed, and a closet. It would suit a mom/ daughter trip. There's also a nice rooftop bar / restaurant if you're tired and just want to relax. And please say hi to all the front desk staff, and the DELIGHTFUL breakfast crew - nothing but genuine kindness from everyone.

We're going in late September and have decided to use HotWire to find a hotel in the Pantheon area about a week before the trip. We've had really good luck with them by specifying the quality of hotel and basic location. Normally, our assigned hotels have been somewhere I wouldn't have known about, and they've been great and about 1/2 price from the advertised. Look for their "HotRate Deals'... You're not committed until you decide you want to try it or not.
Just a thought.
